July 6 City Council Meeting Instructions

Please find the information below for anyone wishing to participate virtually in a public hearing or public comment scheduled for the City Council Zoning Meeting on July 6, 2020.

The City Council meeting starts at 7:00 pm – citizens who wish to participate are encouraged to start logging on to the meeting remotely at 6:00 pm.

Participating in Public Hearings & Public Comment Period

  • To comment on an agenda item virtually through the Zoom app, login to the meeting by clicking on this link.
  • If you do not have Zoom installed on your computer already, you will be asked to download the Zoom app.  If you have an older version of Zoom installed, you may be asked to update to the newest version prior to proceeding.
  • If you decline installing this software on your device, you may click on the link on this page that says “join from your browser”.
  • If you wish to comment but only have access to a phone connection, you may call 1-929-205-6099 (New York number), and when prompted, enter meeting ID 829 5793 2801.
  • Once you are connected to the meeting, please be patient in waiting for a staff member to connect you – this sometimes takes a few minutes. Staff will send participants to a separate virtual meeting room to ensure participants are able to speak on the appropriate items.

Public Hearings - Specific Instructions

  • On items Z-3 through Z-10 – The protocol for each public hearing allows the proponents and opponents a total of 15 minutes each to speak.  Each side will then have three minutes of rebuttal before the public hearing is closed.
  • On items Z-11 through Z-12 – The protocol for the public hearings with these items will allow each speaker three minutes.

Public Comment Period - Specific Instructions

In keeping with the standard protocol for City Council meetings, all speakers will be limited to three minutes.  A total of thirty minutes will be allotted for public comments.

Watching/Accessing Meetings

  • For citizens who do not wish to participate in the Council meeting, but who still want to watch live, the meeting will be broadcast as a livestream on WSTV Digital Media at this link.
  • The meeting will also be archived on the City’s website for watching on demand at a later date.
