Winston-Salem Pedestrian Plan Update

The Winston-Salem Pedestrian Plan, or Walkable Winston-Salem, builds on past efforts to create a new vision for walking throughout the City. The plan will be used by the City of Winston-Salem to prioritize, fund, and implement high-quality pedestrian infrastructure, with supportive programs and policies for walking.  The plan is expected to be completed in January 2021. 


You can get involved by visiting the project website and sharing your ideas through the interactive map. You can use the map to leave comments about where you would like to see new and improved routes, and view comments left by others.

Winston-Salem Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Metropolitan  and Comprehensive Transportation Plan Update (CTP/MTP)
CTP_MTP_UpdateWinston-Salem Urbanized Area Metropolitan Planning Organization is in the process of updating the transportation vision for the region looking twenty-five years out, Making Connections 2045.

The WSUAMPO is responsible for maintaining and updating the MTP every five (5) years. The MTP outlines the MPO’s goals and objectives and addresses transportation-related issues affecting the Winston-Salem Urban Area. The MPO is seeking input from residents and interested stakeholders on the current conditions of the transportation network.

Winston-Salem 5307/5310 Call for Applications
Winston-Salem Transportation logoThe Federal Transit Administration has announced that Winston-Salem Urban Area will received federal transportation funds to assist eligible agencies in meeting the transportation needs of low-income, disabled and elderly persons in the area. The Request for Projects (RFP) process will accept proposals for funding under the Job Access Reverse Commute (JARC, Section 5307) and program and/or the Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities (Section 5310) grant program.
