Recreation Center Programs

Extended Day Camps

Recreation and Parks Department will continue to offer extended day camps at five recreation centers starting Monday, Aug. 17, to provide an alternative location where children can participate in their remote learning classes. The day camps will be offered from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at a cost of $25 a week.

Children will be able to use the Wi-Fi connections at participating recreation centers to access the internet. Participants should bring their laptop or learning device (fully charged), school supplies, and a bagged lunch/snack. After classes are over for the day, the staff will offer recreation and leisure activities. 

The program is available for students of all ages, with a limit of 18 students per site. Social distancing measure will be in place and students should wear masks.

Parents should register their children at the recreation center they will use. A fillable registration form is located on our forms page Parents should bring the completed form with payment to the center they will use. At this time all spaces are full. Please continue to check for updates. 

The day camps will be offered at the Martin Luther King, Jr., Polo Park, Sedge Garden, William C. Sims, Sr. and William Roscoe Anderson, Jr. Recreation Centers. 

Inclement Weather Days

  • Day Camps are offered at four locations when schools are closed due to snow days.

After School Program

  • The after school program is for elementary aged children, 5-12 year old. The program hours are 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. and follows the WS/FC Schools schedule. Cost is $25 a week plus a $30 non-refundable programming fee.

Spring Break Camp

  • Camp will offer spring themed activities during WS/FC Schools break April 5 – 9, 2021 for children ages 5 – 12 years old between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.  Spring Break Camp is $50 and pre-registration is required.  

Summer Camp

  • Summer Camps will be offered for eight (8) weeks, June 21 – August 13, 2021 at ten (10) recreation centers.  Camps will include Camp Discovery (individuals with intellectual disabilities), Teen Camp (ages 13 - 17), WePLAY Summer Camp (ages 5 -12), and a Virtual Camp. Registration will begin Saturday, March 27 at 8:00 a.m. onsite.

WePlay Day Camp

  • WePlay Day Camps provide activities when WS/FC schools are closed for teacher workdays.  

Winter Break Camp

  • A fun day camp with winter themed days for children ages 5-12.
