Why Become a Police Officer

The Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) offers some distinct advantages compared with other agencies that you may be considering.

Take-Home Cars

Winston-Salem Police Officers are assigned their own cars, and if they live within 60 miles of downtown, they may drive them to and from work and off-duty employment.

Great Schedule and Permanent Shifts

Winston-Salem Police Officers work a 5-4, 5-4, 5-5 shift schedule.
