Pill Collection Drop Box

Bottled Prescription PillsThe Pill Collection Drop Box is a program for citizens as a convenient and safe way to dispose of unneeded or unwanted pills from their homes. Proper and safe disposal of pills serves to reduce the possibility of accidental or criminal misuse of these drugs as well as providing a safe alternative to disposing of medications in landfills and/or sewer systems.

This program is only for pills. No other form of drugs will be accepted. (No liquids, gels, sharps, syringes or aerosol products.) This program is only for households. Pills from businesses, health care facilities, long-term care facilities, pharmaceutical representatives, pharmacies, doctor offices and veterinary clinics will not be accepted.

Citizens should bring their unwanted pills to the Public Safety Center located at 725 N Cherry Street, during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. excluding holidays). Citizens should check in with the officer at the front desk to receive further instructions on how to proceed with the pill collection.

For added convenience, citizens can now also bring their unwanted pills to any of the three District Offices during business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. excluding holidays). At these locations citizens will need to check in at the front desk and ask for an officer to assist them with the drop box.
