Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Basketball Tournament

William R. Anderson Jr. Community Center hosted their Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Basketball Tournament on Monday, January 20, 2020.  More than 500 citizens attended the event including participants, family, and spectators!  The Winston-Salem Dash Mascot along with the Rockin’ Jump Trampoline Park Mascot attended and passed out coupon vouchers. 

Trophies were sponsored by Cassius Adams to the twelve (12) participating teams. Kids won prizes while competing in the MLK Trivia competition.

The event also included a voter registration drive, a canned food drive, offered information on census takers as well as presentations by several speakers who spoke about the importance of Dr. King in the history of our country.

This tournament was created to give youth a space to have athletic fun while learning and celebrating the legacy of Dr. King.
