Bethabara Road Infrastructure Project

Project Update

Construction was complete on this project in June of 2020.

About the Project

A tributary to Monarcus creek was migrating toward Bethabara Road and jeopardizing the safety of Bethabara Road. The city determined it was necessary to realign the stream channel to prevent further erosion of the road. The project realigned the stream away from the eroded road embankment to reestablish the roadway shoulder with a guardrail from Hickory Glen Drive to just east of Old Town Road. This section of road did not have a safe recovery area or guardrail to protect vehicles that leave the road compromising the safety to the traveling public.
