Virtual Meeting Information

Regular Meeting of the Winston-Salem City Council (Virtual) September 21, 2020, 7:00 p.m.

The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. Citizens who wish to participate are encouraged to start logging on to the meeting remotely at 6:00 p.m.

  • Public Hearing – (G-1) each speaker will be allowed three minutes to speak.

  • Public Comment (G-4) is a time set aside for citizens to voice their opinions on matters germane to City Government. When the Virtual Comment Period is called, each speaker with be given 3 minutes to speak. The Public Comment Period will be limited to a total of 30 minutes.

Participating Virtually in the September 21, 2020, City Council Meeting

  • Log into the meeting using the previously mentioned link.
  • If you do not have Zoom installed on your computer already, you will be asked to download the Zoom app. If you have an older version of Zoom installed, you may be asked to update to the newest version prior to proceeding. 
  • If you decline installing this software on your device, you may click on the link on this page that says “join from your browser”.
  • If you wish to comment but only have access to a phone connection, you may call 1-646-518-9805 or 1-646-558-8656 (New York number). When prompted, enter the meeting ID number: 993 1770 9722
  • Once you are connected to the meeting, please be patient in waiting for a staff member to connect you – this sometimes takes a few minutes. Staff will send participants to a separate virtual meeting room to ensure participants are able to speak on the appropriate items. 

Watching/Accessing Meetings 

  • For citizens who do not wish to participate in the meeting, but who still want to watch live, the meeting will be broadcast as a livestream on WSTV Digital Media at this link
  • The meeting will also be archived on the City’s website for watching on demand at a later date.
