Community Engagement

Our programs offers support neighborhood vitality. The Collaborative Outreach, Revitalization and Engagement (CORE) program is a set of initiatives which encourage resident-led community action.

The Community Development Department has implemented C.O.R.E. (Collaborative Outreach, Revitalization and Engagement). This initiative was developed to engage residents, build strong communities, strengthen neighborhood associations, and promote resident led action.

Goals

The C.O.R.E. program has been designed to:

  • Create a collaborative partnership between the city, stakeholders and neighborhoods
  • Foster cooperation and consensus within neighborhoods
  • Provide a forum for advocacy by neighborhood associations
  • Provide a resource for sharing information and for neighborhood development and training
  • Strengthen and coordinate city departments' responses to neighborhood concerns and service requests
