Multiple departments with openings will be represented at the Job Fair, including Community Development, Financial Management Systems, Information Systems, Utilities, Planning and Development Services, Transportation, Sanitation and Engineering. Some departments will be able to extend conditional job offers on the spot to successful applicants.

Candidates for all positions should bring a photo ID and resume or work history so that they can complete an application on-site. Attendees seeking vehicle operator, maintenance worker or laborer positions should have a valid North Carolina driver’s license. Attendees seeking equipment operator positions should bring their commercial driver’s license (CDL) or a CDL permit. 

Equipment operator candidates will be asked to demonstrate their skills with equipment on-site. Equipment on site will include a tandem-axle dump truck, a snow plow, a backhoe, a mini-excavator, a vacuum truck and a boom truck.

Human Resources representatives will be available to explain the full range of city benefits and answer questions about the hiring process and working for the city.
