What is hydroponics with Dr. Gericke

Dr. Gericke, standing on a ladder, harvests one of his tall tomato plants grown in hydroponics. Mrs. Gericke stands below with some of the harvest.

Hydroponics is the practice of growing plants, without soil, in water that’s enriched with nutrients.

The term was invented in 1937 by William F. Gericke, who is known as the father of modern hydroponics.
