Community Agencies

In 2014 the city adopted a uniform process for evaluating grant requests from non-profit organizations seeking city financial support. In October of each year, the City releases a request for proposals and application. Organizations have about a month to submit proposals for the next fiscal year beginning July 1. 

All grant requests are reviewed by a Community Agency Allocation Committee, appointed by the Mayor and City Council. The committee includes nine citizens and is assisted by members of the city staff. The committee makes recommendations to the City Manager, who considers these recommendations for inclusion in the proposed annual budget to the Mayor and City Council, which have the final decision.
