Rural Hall Area Plan Update

Adopted 2016

The Rural Hall Area Plan Update (PDF) was adopted by the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners on August 8, 2016. The City-County Planning Board recommended the plan for adoption by a unanimous vote at their June 9, 2016 meeting, while the Town Council of Rural Hall endorsed the plan on June 13, 2016. The plan will guide future land use and public investment decisions. Recommendations included in the plan focus on:

Planning Area Boundary

The Rural Hall Planning Area encompasses 11,311 acres and is generally bounded:

  • On the east by Buffalo Creek, which runs parallel to Germanton Road
  • On the north by the Forsyth County line
  • On the west by US 52 and Tobaccoville
  • On the south by the Eastern Section of the Northern Beltway
