The Winston-Salem Fairgrounds is asking city residents to complete a short online survey to gather information about the entertainment and events it should host and will hold a public input session in June to collect additional feedback.

The survey has only seven questions and takes about a minute to complete. A link to the survey is posted at WSFairgrounds.com/survey. A Spanish-language version is posted at WSFairgrounds.com/encuesta.

The Public Assembly Facilities Commission will hold the public input session at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 16, in the Fairgrounds Home & Garden Building, 421 27th St., Winston-Salem.

The survey and input session are part of a concerted effort by city and fairgrounds officials to ensure that the events the fairgrounds hosts, and the entertainment it offers, reflect the diversity of Winston-Salem’s population in all respects. This includes concerts, sporting events, trade shows, festivals, private events and more.

Commission members and fairgrounds staff worked with the city’s Human Relations/Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Department to devise the survey, said Robert Mulhearn, the fairgrounds director.

“By completing our survey or attending our input session, residents will help us better serve our city and everyone in it,” Mulhearn said. 

In addition to hosting the Carolina Classic Fair, concerts and sporting and community events, the fairgrounds facilities are available for rent to the public throughout the year. This includes the annex and education building, the midway, the inner fairgrounds (around the gazebo), the Home & Garden Building and the area with log structures known as Yesterday Village.

Rental rates are established by the Winston-Salem Public Assembly Facilities Commission and are posted at WSFairgrounds.com.
