The city has developed a new online reporting option that allows citizens to report and track such code violations as overgrown yards and abandoned vehicles.

 Citizens can create an account, report code violations and then track what actions are taken as the report moves through the code enforcement system. They can choose to submit photos or give their own contact information so that code enforcement officers, who review violations, can discuss their concerns, but that’s not required, said Shantell McClam, neighborhood services director.

 “The new code enforcement reporting system helps to make it easier for people to see the progress of their reports through our system,” McClam said. “We designed the system with the community in mind. We expect it to be helpful to individuals as well as groups who are working to keep our neighborhoods attractive.” To set up an account and read more about online reporting, go to: CityofWS.org/3420.
