The city’s M/WBE Division and the Access Center for Equity & Success are holding an information session and networking opportunity Thursday, Dec. 12, to brief minority- and women-owned businesses about upcoming capital projects that the city will be putting out for bid, including 2014 and 2018 bond projects.

The meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Access Center’s offices in Suite 241 of the Bailey Power Plant, 486 Patterson Ave., Winston-Salem.

Representatives from Property & Facilities Management, Community Development, Recreation & Parks, City-County Utilities, and other city departments will be available to discuss their upcoming projects. A Spanish interpreter will be on site, and attendees can network with fellow contractors and community-based lenders.

The event is free, but RSVPs are request through EventBrite at this web address: forecastedcityofwsprojects.eventbrite.com. Parking and directions are posted at accessws.org/directions.
