A Coordinated Approach to Meeting Transportation Needs for Low-Income, Disabled and Elderly Populations in the Winston-Salem Urban Area

The Federal Transit Administration has announced that Winston-Salem Urban Area will receive Federal transportation funds to assist eligible agencies in meeting the transportation needs of low-income, disabled and elderly persons in the area.  The Request for Projects (RFP) process will accept proposals for funding under the Job Access Reverse Commute (JARC, Section 5307) and program and/or the Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities (Section 5310) grant program.

Applications, instructions for submitting proposals can be found at:  Above in the table or the Winston-Salem Department of Transportation (WSDOT) website (https://www.cityofws.org/765/Transportation).  All applications must be received by close of business day on Thursday September 24, 2020 (5:00 PM).  Applications received after this date and time will not be considered.  Proposals may be hand-delivered to the front lobby of Bryce A. Stuart Municipal Building located at 100 E. First St. Winston-Salem, NC 27101, mailed, or emailed to:

The Winston-Salem DOT in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 200d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally-assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notified all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.

Box 2511, Winston-Salem, NC 27102, within 180 days following the date of the alleged discrimination occurrence.
