Sept. 28, 2020

The Drive Thru, presented by the Carolina Classic Fair, will be held Thursday through Sunday, Oct. 1 – 4 to provide fair fans an opportunity to enjoy their favorite fair food, support local charities and participate in a drive–thru “ride”, drive-thru “game”, drive-in movies and fireworks – all from the safety of their vehicle.  The Drive Thru is being made possible by Truist, Farm Bureau, and 1800 PackRat.

Complete information about the Drive Thru is posted at CarolinaClassicFair.com.  Here are some answers to frequently asked questions:

Is there a cost to get into the Drive Thru?

The Drive Thru portion of the event on Oct. 1 – 4 from 11 a.m.  – 7 p.m. is FREE. Fair officials are suggesting you bring at least five non-perishable food items to support Crisis Control Ministry.

There is an admission charge for The Drive movies. Movie tickets are $10.50 for adults and $8.50 for 12 and under. Each movie is limited to 350 tickets.

Is there a cost to get into the movies?

YES, you must have a ticket for each individual movie. Movie tickets are $10.50 for adults and $8.50 for 12 and under. You can purchase tickets at Ticketmaster.com or visit wsfairgrounds.com for more information.

How can I watch the fireworks show?

The easiest way to watch the show will be by purchasing a ticket to any of the 7 p.m. movies on Oct. 2 or 3 and reserving your space at The Drive. We will allow those onsite at the 7 p.m. movies to stay and watch the fireworks. There is no other guaranteed way to see the fireworks show.

How long should I expect to wait for my food once at the Drive Thru?

We ask that you are patient and expect limited wait times based on the specifics of your order. This is new to all of us and we expect a great turnout.

What can I do while I wait for my food?

The Carolina Classic Fair will post regular messages and entertainment at @carolinaclassicfair on Facebook. You can also visit our website to view the community’s virtual exhibits/entries.

How can I post a virtual exhibit?

Potential exhibitors will go to carolinaclassicfair.fairentry.com to enter items. Exhibitors can also visit CarolinaClassicFair.com for information on how to enter. This year’s exhibits/competitive entries will not be judged.

Guests may print out a coloring sheet and submit one sheet per person. One winner for each age category will receive 2 free tickets to next year's Carolina Classic Fair.

Are you accepting cash for transactions?

NO, the food and movies may only be purchased via credit card.

If I do not have a vehicle can I come purchase fair food?

NO, you must have a vehicle to order food during the Drive Thru.

What happens if I am still in line waiting to order food and it is after 7 p.m.

Although the gate will close at 7 p.m., anyone in line at that time will be able to order their food and participate in the Drive Thru.

Can I order food in advance and have it ready for pick up?

NO, all food will be ordered onsite at the Gazebo area once you have entered the Drive Thru. There is no option for online ordering. However, the menu is posted online if you want to decide in advance what you want to order before you arrive. All food must be paid for when you order by credit card ONLY.

Can I eat my food on the Fairgrounds?

Unfortunately, NO. We have designed the Drive Thru as just that. Once you receive your food you will proceed to the exit towards Deacon Blvd.

Will there be restrooms on-site?

During the Drive Thru event there will be no public restrooms. All patrons will be required to stay in their vehicles. During The Drive movies there are portable potties available for use.

What is the “Loose Change” game during the Drive Thru?

It is a play on a typical fair game, only touch free! Participants may throw loose change into Salvation Army buckets as they drive thru the fairgrounds. The buckets will be labeled with “point numbers” so you can compete with others in your car for the high score.

What is the “Road Bump” ride?

It is a play on a typical fair ride, only your car is the RIDE! As you exit the fairgrounds you will drive over multiple speedbumps with your fair food. You are encouraged to take a picture as you drive past the backdrop and upload your photos to social media @carolinaclassicfair.

Will fair food be available during the movies after 7 p.m.?

NO. Your best bet is to purchase food at the Drive Thru before 7 p.m. and enter the movie area once you pick up your food. There will be standard concession food for sale during the movie: popcorn, candy, soda, hot dogs, etc.

What’s the point of doing the Drive Thru?

It’s about bringing as much of the fair to the community as possible in a time that we cannot hold our traditional fair. We hope that you enjoy what is put together with the current state of the country and our available resources. We are excited to work with existing fair food vendors and support their livelihoods, which have been impacted during this pandemic.
