[ARCHIVED] Transformative Grants Applications Being Accepted March 25 – April 25

Local non-profit organizations can apply for a transformative grant starting at 8 a.m. Friday, March 25, using the application link posted at CityofWS.org/TransformativeGrants. Applications will be accepted through 5 p.m. Monday, April 25.

The City Council is seeking proposals for programs that have a long-lasting, transformative impact on such social and economic needs as poverty alleviation, job training and economic mobility.

Grant proposals will be accepted from any registered non-profit organization with current 501(c)3 tax-exempt status and that has been in business for at least a year as of March 25. There is no minimum or maximum grant amount that an organization may request.

An application orientation and information session will be held online at 10 a.m. Friday, April 1, to go over the application form and the process by which applications will be scored, and to answer questions. The session will be held via Zoom and will livestream on CityofWS.org/YouTube. Viewers who want to ask questions should sign in to participate in the briefing and pose questions through the chat box. A link to participate will be posted on CityofWS.org/TransformativeGrants. The link will not be active until 15 minutes before the briefing starts.

Applicants will be required to submit a variety of documents with their applications, including their articles of incorporation, their IRS 501(c)3 designation letters and their most recently audited or reviewed financial statements. The full list of documents is posted at CityofWS.org/TransformativeGrants. Applicants with questions can send an email to ARPA@cityofws.org.

Money for the grants would come out of the $51.7 million in federal money the city is receiving through the Coronavirus Local Fiscal Rescue Fund that is part of the American Rescue Plan Act approved by Congress last year.
